JOYS:

Bernie Muzzillo says Little Isaac Hess who has undergone 3 major surgeries in his first 5 months of life has been released to go home!  He is up to 9 ½ pounds & doing well.  Thanks for all the prayers.

UMM over 200 men & boys attended the Lenten Breakfast last Friday; we’re having record crowds!  Join us this Friday for fellowship, singing, food & Pastor Lyle Ewing from Auburn Presbyterian will give the message.

Tim & Kristen Nelson celebrate 7th Anniversary 3/8.

Scott Armstrong won 2nd in the pinewood derby this past weekend.

Carolyn, Chris, Will & Michael Vadney celebrate Cathy turning 17,897 days old on 3/11.

Eileen Eberhart celebrates only a few days until her retirement!!!

Donna Bosseker stated yesterday that it was the 1st day of the last year of the 6th decade of Ken’s life…Happy Birthday!

Craig Wehr is joyful that Sound Sensation Girls won 1st runner up and Classic Connection won 3rd place @ Carroll Invitational this past weekend.

Jim Littlejohn thanks all who supported the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast. Thanks for the use of the Fellowship Hall.  Proceeds supported the area food banks.

Women of Faith is joyful that thanks to this generous congregation we raised $367.05 for “Hearts For Haiti” bake sale.

Cindy Parrott says Kevin Jayne is out of coma & communicating, but still need prayers.

First Church News

Last day to sign up for Methodist Marchers Relay For Life Team. Contact Cathy Vadney 925-0065.

Nellie Weaver Circle will be meeting at the church in the parlor on March 9 at 9am.

Wednesday Night Adult Bible Study will move to the Chapel; please note change.

All FUMC ladies are invited to an evening of good food, fellowship and fun. Plan to attend the United Methodist Women’s Spring General Meeting Tuesday, March 9 at 6:30. Dinner will be “Green Eggs & Ham”, with salad and dessert included. Popular magician Kenneth Wilcoxson will provide the entertainment. Admission is a can of food for the Indian Village Food Pantry. You may also bring cookies & 2-liter pop for Campus Life. (No oatmeal or lemon cookies please).

Next Sunday is Youth Sunday. Our First Church Youth will be leading the service. Make sure to attend to support our youth! Final Youth Sunday Planning and Practice Meeting tonight, March 7, from 6:30 – 8 PM at the church.  Pizza provided.

JOYS:

John & Kim & Madison MacDonald welcome baby Donavan Douglas born last week.

We celebrate with Betsy Rodecap -Kurtz & John McLaughlin who have birthdays this week.

Tiara Teders says Sound Sensation got 1st runner up & Classic Connection got grand champions for Show Choir in Illinois over the weekend!!!

The Muckenfuss’ are celebrating Karen’s 46th birthday Sunday & Monday because she was born on 2/29!

Caylin was joyful that she had a sleep over this past weekend.

Madison Schultis & family celebrate Joe turning 41 next Sunday.

Jeff & Lisa Leiter celebrate Abby turning 20 yesterday as well as thankful for Logan’s graduation from Marine Corp. boot camp & the 10 days he’s home on leave.  Thanks for all the prayers from our church family.

Nate Hinrichsen is proud that the Winter Drum Line won their 1st competition with 86.5 and a 6 point spread over the weekend.

The Women of Faith Sunday School Class is holding a bake sale SUNDAY in Fellowship Hall  to help with Haiti needs.

Preschool registration is underway!  If you would like to schedule a tour or need information, call or email Director Kelly Oswalt at 925-2570 or koswalt@auburnfirstunited.com.  Brochures may be found on a table in the gathering area.

NEW SPRING MATURE YEARS are in the racks outside the Sanctuary.

Women come and join the Women of Faith class for the “40 Days of Love” study by Rick Warren. You can just come for the DVD each week & discuss or you can use a study guide for a deeper experience with God. The Study will be 6 weeks beginning in March in the Women of Faith classroom on the lower level in the west hallway during the Sunday School hour which starts at 9:45am. Materials are supplied. Contact Cindy Parrott at 414-7443 with questions. To register, please provide your name & phone number to Cindy by putting a note in her church mailbox.

The FUMC Methodist Marchers want YOU to be on our Relay for Life team this year and help us as we’re “Celebrating &‘Cruisin” for a Cure!’ The relay will be May 22 & 23 at the DeKalb High School track. Pay your $10 registration fee and get a packet to start collecting donations for the American Cancer Society for much-needed research for more cures for cancer. You can get more information from Cathy Vadney, vadney3@mchsi.com or 925-0065; or Debbie Ingold, d.ingold@mchsi.com or 927-9823. The deadline to register is March 7th!

Sign up for the new Wednesday Bible Study “Seeing Christ in the Jewish Feasts” which starts March 3. Sign up in the gathering area.

Children’s Council is in need of individually wrapped candy and small prizes for the Easter Egg Hunt.  Items can be given to Tammy Althouse through March 28th.

Scholarships for high school seniors are now available. If you have a senior who has not yet received an application, pick one up from the youth bulletin board or on the youth website at www.auburnfirstunitedyouth.com

Church Camp 2010

Get signed up for church camp!  There are some awesome opportunities of ways to get involved in camp this summer!  The early bird deadline is April 11th, after which time the cost increases by $20.  Get signed up by March 7th and get an extra prize!  Don’t forget!  The camps are competing for who can get the most forms turned in by April 11th for a chance to spin for more prizes!

 

Please check out the “Lost and Found” box on the rack at the East entrance.  We will be donating these items to a local charity soon if they are not claimed.

Across the American Red Cross Indiana-Ohio Region, six blood drives were forced to be canceled or close early since February 8 due to severe winter weather.  There is blood drive scheduled here at the church on March 2 from 12 – 6pm if you are able to help!
